Entends

Privacy Policy

Your audio stays yours.

Entends is designed to process recordings locally and to give you control over storage and optional sync.

Effective September 30, 2026

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Entends handles information when you use the iOS app. Entends does not operate an advertising network, does not track you across apps or websites, and does not maintain an Entends user account or cloud transcription service.

Microphone and audio

Entends accesses the microphone only after you grant iOS microphone permission and start recording. While recording is active, the app may capture voices and sounds near the iPhone.

Audio is stored temporarily in the app’s protected local storage while it waits for on-device transcription. Queued audio is deleted after the completed recording has been transcribed and saved. If processing is interrupted, audio may remain locally so transcription can recover. You can delete all queued audio at any time from Data & Sync.

On-device processing

Speech recognition, voice-activity filtering, and anonymous speaker labeling run on the iPhone. Entends does not send your raw audio to the developer, OpenAI, or a remote transcription service.

On first use, Entends downloads machine-learning model files from third-party hosting used by WhisperKit and FluidAudio. Those downloads may expose ordinary network information, such as an IP address, to the model host. Your recordings and transcripts are not included in those requests.

Transcripts and local data

Transcripts, speaker labels, recording intervals, and observed interruption information are stored locally on your device. Entends does not receive or centrally store this content.

You can delete all local transcripts and queued audio through the app. Removing the app from your iPhone also removes data stored within its app container, subject to normal iOS behavior and any backups controlled by you.

Optional Google Drive connection

Google Drive is optional. If you connect it, Entends requests Google identity information and the limited drive.file permission needed to create and update transcript files made by the app. The app stores the Google account identifier and OAuth authorization tokens on your device; sensitive tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain.

Entends uploads transcript files—not raw audio—to a visible folder in your Google Drive. Google processes that information under Google’s own privacy terms. Disconnecting Google Drive removes local authorization but does not delete files already uploaded. Delete those files directly in Google Drive.

Sharing, tracking, and advertising

We do not sell personal information. Entends contains no third-party advertising and does not use your recordings or transcripts for tracking, behavioral advertising, or training developer-operated machine-learning models.

Your responsibilities

Recording and consent laws differ by location. You are responsible for informing people nearby when appropriate and for using Entends in compliance with applicable law.

Children’s privacy

Entends is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through a developer-operated service.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Entends changes. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the latest revision.
