Getting started
Start a recording
Tap Record and allow microphone access. The red recording indicator and elapsed timer remain visible while capture is active. Tap Stop at any time to end microphone capture.
Wait for the first transcript
Entends processes audio in 30-second segments. On first use, the on-device transcription and speaker-detection models must download and initialize. Keep the app open, the iPhone unlocked, and the device connected to Wi-Fi. The first text may take several minutes to appear.
Common questions
Why does transcription continue after I tap Stop?
Microphone capture stops immediately, but audio already saved on the device may continue processing. Entends removes that queued audio after the transcript has been saved.
Why is there no transcript yet?
Confirm that you spoke clearly near the iPhone, have an internet connection for the first model download, and have available device storage. Later transcription runs locally without uploading audio.
Can recording continue in the background?
An active, user-initiated recording can continue while the app is backgrounded or the device is locked. Calls, app termination, device shutdown, low storage, or iOS resource decisions may interrupt it.
Which languages are supported?
Entends is designed for English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, and Dutch.
Data and Google Drive
Delete local information
Open Data & Sync and choose “Delete all local transcripts and queued audio.” Deletion is permanent and requires confirmation.
Disconnect Google Drive
Open Data & Sync and choose “Disconnect Google Drive.” Disconnecting removes local authorization but does not delete transcript files already stored in Google Drive.
Delete Google Drive copies
Open Google Drive and delete the transcript files or their Entends/Listen folder manually. Entends never uploads raw audio to Google Drive.
